Evel Knievel's fame came at a price for our entertainment. 14 open reduction surgeries to repair or replace bones and 36 months in the hospital throughout his career. He was truly king of the Stuntmen. Thanks Evel. Rest in Peace and God Speed.
June 10, 2005 - Johnstown, PA - Jim and I went to a Meet and Greet with Evel Knievel. Now, we thought what we were getting into was your typical crowds of people, t- shirts, souvenirs, etc... But it wasn’t that at all. To our surprise it was more personal than that. It was a more private party where we got to eat dinner and listen to Evel as he spoke to us about his life, career, and his thoughts of God. It was a up close and personal with the man himself. He gave us his time which was better than any T-Shirt or other merchandising. It was great.
